"This was the first beat Buddy sent me when we agreed to work on the album. I got this beat in fuckin 2010 lol. The original lyrics were written in 3rd person. I thought it would be cool to talk about a man and woman with different dreams and struggling to reap the benefits of those dreams, and then tie those stories into my own story for the last verse. But then when the whole I.M. sheeit started to pop off and J-Stielz came into the picture, he, Buddy and myself did a song called "Just Listen Because Of Chuck Taylor" or something like that. The song was about being more self-efficient to achieve your goals. My 2nd verse in this song came from that song, which ended up getting scraped because Buddy and Jeremy no longer liked their verses or the beat. So I was like fuck it, it really fit what I was trying to do with this song so I decided to just use it here. I ended up doing a whole new 1st verse as well, so basically the only thing that didn't get changed from when I originally did the song was the beat and 3rd verse." -restrictEd
